5 moments that test your faith

There’s a strange discomfort that comes with beginning again.

It’s like standing at the edge of a cliff, not high enough to terrify you, but high enough to make your stomach turn. The air feels thinner. You can see what you want in the distance, but it still feels out of reach.

And in that moment, something inside you whispers: “Maybe I’m not ready. Maybe I should wait until I know more… until I feel more certain.”

But beginnings aren’t supposed to feel certain. They’re supposed to feel raw. You’re supposed to stumble. You’re supposed to doubt. That’s how you know you’re not repeating the past, you’re building something new.

Lately, I’ve been in that space myself. Starting something new. Feeling that familiar mix of excitement and fear. Trying to remember how to move again when every step feels foreign.

It’s humbling and honest to realize that growth will always bring you back to this place. And maybe that’s the point.

So, this week, I wanted to share 5 reminders for anyone standing at the edge of something new. Not polished advice, just quiet truths I’ve had to relearn, one awkward step at a time.

1. The Edge of the Unknown

Beginnings are confusing. They always are. They pull you out of comfort and into curiosity, a place where you don’t have the answers yet.

It’s tempting to mistake uncertainty for being lost. But maybe “lost” is just what it feels like when you’re expanding your map.

You’re not lost. You’re just early.

2. The Ego Fights Back

Your ego hates being new. It wants control, predictability, and proof that you’re still the person who knows what they’re doing. But this version of you doesn’t have that yet. That’s okay. The ego can’t come with you where you’re going.

Courage isn’t loud. It’s the quiet act of showing up anyway.

3. The Awkward Middle

There’s a phase between “excited” and “good at it” that no one talks about. It’s messy, uncomfortable, and full of second-guessing. You’ll wonder if you’ve made a mistake, if the spark you felt on day one was a lie. It wasn’t. You’re just in the part where your growth is invisible.

The universe hides breakthroughs behind boredom.

4. The Shift

Then one day, something clicks. A small win. A slight rhythm. The same thing that felt heavy last week suddenly feels lighter. You realize it wasn’t the task that changed, it was you. And that’s how progress always happens: subtly, quietly, and one decision at a time.

Momentum is built one quiet victory at a time.

5. Becoming the Beginner Again

Eventually, you’ll find your flow, that feeling of ease you were chasing. But the funny thing about growth is, it never lets you stay there for long.

The moment you master this chapter, life hands you a new beginning. A new lesson. A new edge. And you’ll feel awkward again, not because you’ve fallen behind, but because you’re still evolving.

Growth is a cycle of beginnings, not a destination.

Starting is never comfortable. It asks you to walk into the unknown without certainty or applause. It strips you of the titles, the labels, the safety of “knowing.”

But maybe that’s the beauty of it. Maybe that’s where you reconnect, not with who you’ve been, but with who you’re becoming.

So if you’re standing at the edge of something new, don’t turn back. Take the step. It won’t be perfect, it never is, but it will be yours.
