Do THIS Every Morning And Watch Your Life Change

Imagine if you had a magic potion that could make your life exponentially better, with zero negative side effects. Would you take it? For me, it’s a no-brainer. Absolutely! And guess what? This “magic potion” exists in endless supply. I refer to it as my morning routine. 

First things first. Let's address the elephant in the room—morning routines can be a polarizing topic. Understandable. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution. As Charlie Munger wisely said, “You are your own experiment.”

I’ve certainly experimented, and while my approach evolves based on my needs and the season of life I’m in, one thing remains constant: a morning routine makes my life unequivocally better. Why? Because life is a momentum game. It’s that simple. Waking up early, caring for my mind and body while simultaneously defeating the alarm clock, lights me up like a man on fire—and I carry that energy with me throughout the entire day.

Here are a few components of my morning routine and why they’re invaluable. If you’re considering experimenting with your mornings, these might spark some inspiration:

1. Sauna and Cold Plunge: This ritual is such a favorite part of my routine that I look forward to it every morning. The sauna offers warm comfort and tremendous health benefits. It soothes my muscles and clears my mind.

Then comes the cold plunge—imagine stepping into icy water, the kind that makes your breath catch and your heart race. It’s exhilarating! I feel like the hero in my own movie. By braving the cold, I shut down resistance and feel refreshed, starting my day with a victory for both mind and body.

2. Journaling: Sometimes, it’s just me, my thoughts, and the silence of the morning. Lately, I’ve returned to physically writing with pen and paper—there’s something satisfying about seeing my thoughts materialize into words.  Journaling helps me plan my day, declutter my mind, and set my intentions. Having a daily, weekly, and monthly list guides me, increasing my momentum and creating more wind for my sails. 

3. 15 Minutes of Reading: Whether it’s an audiobook in the sauna (if I can keep my phone from overheating) or a few pages of a book, this habit invigorates my mind and fills me with new ideas. It’s a simple practice that always makes me feel good. That’s the bottom line. 

A key part of this routine is the belief that people follow through on who they perceive themselves to be. This routine helps shape my identity, making me feel like an action-taker—someone who prioritizes their health, sharpens their mind, stays organized, and is committed to continuous learning and growth. If momentum is like a snowball (and I believe it is), these practices help propel me forward with unstoppable force.  

So, if you’re on the fence about diving into the world of morning routines, consider this your nudge.  Experiment, find what works for you, and let the magic begin.
