I Was Trapped in Life’s Algorithm—Here’s How I Broke Free

It all started with a spreadsheet.

Not an exciting one—just rows of numbers, perfectly aligned, formulas doing their quiet, invisible work. It was nothing more than a tool to track progress, predict outcomes, and keep life on a steady path.

But one day, as I stared at that screen, a chilling thought hit me:

I had become the spreadsheet.

Every action, every choice, every cautious step forward—it wasn’t really mine. It was preordained by expectations, calibrated by the invisible hand of what was “supposed to happen.” I wasn’t living. I was executing an algorithm.

Then I shifted gears. I started creating—videos, speeches, ideas brought to life. And suddenly, I found myself inside a new kind of algorithm. One not made of spreadsheets but of views, likes, shares, and comments.

This system isn’t just about numbers; it’s about gently nudging you toward safety and predictability. It rewards what’s familiar and quietly punishes the unfamiliar.

You see it all the time. A creator shares something raw, real, and unpolished. It strikes a chord, it goes viral. And just like that, the trap is set.

How do I do more of this?

That’s the moment the algorithm tightens its grip.

I once saw a video on TikTok—just a guy hitting a door with a hammer. That’s it. For some reason, it blew up. So I checked back months later, and guess what? His entire account had become a library of hammer-meets-door videos. Hundreds of them—same act, over and over.

At first, I laughed. It seemed absurd.

But then, a darker thought: Isn’t this what we all do?

Not literally, but metaphorically. Aren’t we all just repeating the things that bring approval, that feel safe, that keep us comfortably ensconced in our routines?

Life’s algorithm rewards conformity. It applauds stability. It guides you toward the well-worn path—the degree that’s practical, the job that’s secure, the choices that keep your feet on solid ground.

And before you know it, the real question in your mind isn’t,But here’s the harsh truth: Winning the wrong game is just a polished way of losing.

People spend decades climbing ladders only to find they’re leaning against the wrong building. They chase approval and arrive at a version of themselves they barely recognize.

I know this because I’ve felt it—the quiet pull to repeat what works, to serve the machine instead of the soul.

But here’s the thing: you don’t escape the algorithm by playing it better.

You escape it by stepping outside of it.

That’s why I started making videos on weekends—knowing full well they might not perform well in the eyes of the algorithm. But they felt right. They reminded me why I started: not to chase numbers but to create, to explore, and share something that matters.

So, let me ask you:

Are you living a life that makes your heart race, or are you just checking off boxes on someone else’s to-do list?

If you feel stuck—if life feels like an endless loop of hammering the same door, over and over—stop. Step back. And ask yourself:

Is this truly mine?

Because here’s the truth: You don’t owe the algorithm anything.

But you owe yourself everything.

Continue to live inspired,

P.S. If this hits home, do something this week that breaks the pattern. Start a project that scares you. Share an idea that’s raw instead of polished. Do one thing that isn’t optimized for the algorithm—but is optimized for you. And if you do, I’d love to hear about it. 🔥✨
