Is Playing Too Small Stopping Your Growth? Aim Higher Today
We’ve all heard it: “Comparison is the thief of joy.”
But what if it’s not? What if, instead of robbing us, comparison fuels us? What if it’s not a thief at all but a magnifying glass—a way to see what’s possible and remind us we’re capable of so much more?
Think about the people you admire most—the ones who dared to push boundaries, who shaped history with their boldness.
Washington, who led a ragtag army against impossible odds. Adams, who crossed a treacherous ocean not once but four times for the sake of a vision. Jefferson, who declared independence from the mightiest empire of his time. Hamilton, who built the financial foundation of a nation while battling relentless criticism.
They weren’t born superheroes. They weren’t invincible. They were human beings who dared to believe in their ability to create change—and then took action.
Now, ask yourself the question I ask every time I look at their stories:
What about me?
The Power of Small Wins
Here’s the truth, small wins matter. They’re the stepping stones to something extraordinary. But they’re just the beginning—the prologue, not the final chapter.
I’ve had my battles with what seemed like “small” things.
For instance, going live on Instagram. At first, the thought terrified me. Not because of the technology or even the act itself, but because of what it represented—vulnerability. Showing up. Saying, “This is me, and this is what I believe.”
But I did it. And every time, it got a little easier. Each small victory wasn’t an endpoint—it was a step.
What about you? Maybe it’s making a tough phone call or speaking up in a meeting. Whatever it is, those “small” moments are proof you can take the next step—and the one after that.
But here’s the real question: Are you aiming high enough?
Because small wins matter, but they’re not where you stop. They’re where you start.
The Four-Minute Mile
Let me tell you one of the most remarkable examples of breaking limits—Roger Bannister. Before 1954, no one had run a mile in under four minutes. It wasn’t just unlikely—it was impossible.
Then Bannister did it. And the world changed.
Suddenly, runners everywhere began breaking the barrier. Not because they magically became faster overnight, but because Bannister proved it was possible, He didn’t just run faster, he shattered the belief that held others back.
What about you? What “impossible” belief is holding you back from your own four-minute mile?
Your Call to Action
This week, ask yourself the question that can change everything: Am I aiming high enough?
And if the answer is no, it’s time to aim bigger.
Set a goal that feels just out of reach. Chase it with the courage of Washington, the determination of Hamilton, and the audacity of Jefferson.
This isn’t your summit—it’s your ascent. The world is malleable, and with belief and courage, you can shape it.
Here’s to small wins, giant leaps, and a life lived boldly.
Continue to live inspired,
