It’s Game Time. Are You Ready?

Hey Gang,

It’s the first Monday of the year. The calendar has turned. The toasts were made. The intentions were set.

Over the last few days, you probably made a few promises to yourself. Quiet ones. The kind you don’t post. This year will be different. I’m done putting this off. I owe it to myself to show up.

And now… it’s game time.

Because right after motivation fades, inspiration hands the baton to decision. This is where the year gets decided. Not in the big declarations, but in the small, uncomfortable choices that follow them.

Sooner or later, you’ll come to a fork in the road.

One path looks familiar. Comfortable. Manageable. It lets you keep your routines, your stories, your identity intact.

The other path asks more of you. More honesty. More courage. More discomfort.

And almost every time, the easier road whispers first: Just ease into it. You can start later. You have time. You’re fine where you are.

But here’s what I’ve learned: Comfort isn’t the same as peace. Comfort keeps things predictable. Peace comes from being honest with yourself.

Most of the hardest decisions I’ve made didn’t feel good in the moment. They felt lonely. Uncertain. Exposing. But almost every one of them led to the happiest chapters of my life, not because they were dramatic… but because they were true.

We don’t usually regret choosing the harder road. We regret the years we spent standing still, calling it patience.

So as the year begins, let me ask you this: Where are you choosing “comfortable” and calling it “fine”? Is it a conversation you keep avoiding? A version of yourself you’ve outgrown? A habit that numbs instead of nourishes? A dream you’ve made smaller so it doesn’t scare you?

2026 doesn’t need a perfect version of you. It needs an honest one.

So maybe the question isn’t: Which choice feels easier right now? But: Which choice leads me closer to who I’m meant to be?

That road has always been harder. And it has always been worth it.

Here’s to choosing courage, quietly, daily, imperfectly, and letting happiness be the byproduct.
