Stop Letting THIS Hold You Back

Hello Your World Within Community!

This week, I’d like to take you back in time, roughly a decade ago. I was sitting at my desk, staring at my computer screen, the cursor hovering ominously over the “publish” button. It was a moment that encapsulated days of creation, preparation, and research. But just as I was about to share my work with the world, doubt loomed large, and I was plagued with questions—should I invest a little more time in perfecting the video, should I wait until tomorrow?

In that moment of hesitation, the old phrase “Ready, Aim, Fire” echoed in my mind. As I contemplated its meaning, a thought dawned on me. Had I been approaching it all wrong? Should it be “Ready, Fire, Aim” instead? Was it more about taking the leap and getting my wings on the way down, rather than endlessly aiming for an elusive perfection?

Reflecting on the past ten years of my journey, particularly the inception of Your World Within, I came to a crucial realization—the danger of overthinking and overanalyzing every decision.

This lesson was put to the test when my team and I launched our new project, Levels, and faced the daunting task of organizing our first retreat. Instead of succumbing to the allure of perfectionism and delaying the event for months, we made a bold decision. We set a date and committed to it wholeheartedly.

Sure, there were hiccups along the way, unforeseen challenges that tested our resolve. But as the weekend unfolded, it became abundantly clear that our decision to take action had been the right one. The feedback was phenomenal, and it was one of the best weekends of my life.

And you know what?  The next one will be even better. Why? Because we’ve gained invaluable experience that can only come from actually doing.

Through this experience, I reaffirmed the importance of embracing the “Ready, Fire, Aim” mentality. While perfection may seem like the ultimate goal, it’s often unattainable. Excellence, on the other hand, is forged through action and daring to take that leap of faith without knowing the exact destination.

So, if you find yourself teetering on the edge of indecision, remember this—greatness isn’t found in endless aiming but in the boldness to take action. Trust in your abilities and let your courage push you forward with confidence and determination.

Continue to live inspired,

Eddie
