Behind our house, there were rolling hills as far as the eye could see. My friends and I would race up and down them until the sun disappeared below the horizon. Those nights were pure, unfiltered joy—no expectations, no questions, just being. Now, years later, I catch myself wondering: why was something so simple, so profound?

There’s an ache in realizing how far we’ve come from those moments. In the pursuit of something “greater,” we’ve left behind the simplicity that once made us feel alive.
